Collaborative Classes
The following two classes, Intermediate Tooling and Tooled Bi-Fold Wallet; are being taught as a collaborative effort from two of our instructors. While it is not mandatory to attend the first class to attend the second, if you do attend the first class then you will only need to pay $15 for the wallet class. If you sign up for the Tooled Bi-Fold Wallet class and not the tooling, then your wallet will not be tooled and you will need to pay the full $20 for the class. Festive holiday wreath made of leather pieces that will be wet formed into shapes resembling winter flora. The wreath will be dyed and styled to your specifications. These pieces will be attached to strips and woven into a decorative holiday decoration that will last through many seasons of use.

In the class we will work through some of the included projects such as the coasters and luggage tags, and learn how to use the basic stamps, as well as how to dye, finish, and assemble small items.

Leather Skills Course.
Classes are held on Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12 noon and repeated from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. We hold classes every month except; July and December. There are four classes in the course, described below. Class size is limited to 8 people on a first come, first served basis. Classes must be booked in advanced.
Class I. Leather knowledge and stamping.
Various types of leather are shown and discussed. Students will learn tanning methods, grades/quality and typical usage.
Students learn how to prepare leather for stamping and use stamptools to put designs into leather.
Class 2. Leather carving.
An overview of how to carve designs into leather. Students will be instructed on the correct use of the swivel knife, basic 6 stamptools and related items to achieve successful leather carving.
Class 3. Colouring leather.
Various types of colouring agents for leather will be show and discussed. Particular attention paid to dyes, stains and finishes. Students will learn application techniques and expected results.
Class 4. Methods of construction.
Students will learn different methods of joining leather together. Emphasis on lacing, stitching plus associated tools to complete leather projects.

Every Wednesday from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm we will be offering a space for you to work on your leathercraft project. Spaces are limited and free, so it's first come, first served. Please bring your project, tools and the supplies you will need; or you can purchase them when you arrive. Our staff will be on hand if you have any questions.
Basic Stamping Demonstration. Saturday March 2nd. 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm
Demonstration of stamping techniques, correct leather choice, leather preperation, tools to use and tool care. Time permitting, attendees will be able to make a leather wristband. Limit 8 attendees, on a "first come first served" basis.
Fastener Demonstration. Saturday March 9th. 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Demonstration of fasteners and uses, types of fasteners ( rivets, snaps, clasps, Chicago screws etc.), installation methods, typical applications, correct tools to use.
Sewing/Lacing Demonstration. Saturday March 16th. 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Demonstration of Double loop lacing and Saddle stitching. Methods, tools and supplies to use, typical applications.
Colouring Demonstration. Saturday March 23rd. 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Demonstration of colouring agents and finishes, types of products, application methods, tools and equipment required, typical applications.
Saturdays, 10am-Noon
Classes are free of charge with the purchase of a youth, Basic or Deluxe Beginner’s Kit. Students work at their own pace Learning the carving, dyeing, lacing, stitching and assembly techniques required to complete all the Kits in the respective Kits they have purchased.
Class sizes average 6 to 8 students and they are informative, fun sessions in a welcoming environment for all ages 10 and up.

Basic Leather Stamping/Carving Class

In this class, you will be given a leather coaster on which we will learn to make a basket weave impression by using leather stamps.
On a second coaster, you will learn to transfer a western floral design and students will be instructed on the correct use of the swivel knife, basic 6 stamp tools and related items. It will allow you to learn the proper use of the tools and some common tricks of the trade.
Leather Belt making class
You can participate in this class any time a day between 11am till 4pm. Please call before to set up a time.
Cost: $25 ea
Age Limit: 15+
Duration: 2 hours
Supplies: We will provide you all that you need
Students will learn to make a complete belt and they will practice use of some decorative stamp designs or name initials on it. At the end of class, students will take home their own hand made belt. Students will also be able to buy a fancy buckle of their choice if they do not want the one that comes with the package.
As we are celebrating our 100th year anniversary we are pleased to introduce FREE classes for the entire month of August at the Mississauga store location every Sunday from 11-12pm. During these classes you will learn how to use basic hand tools for cutting leather, hand stitching, finishing edges, dying, gluing, setting rivets and snaps, etc. Also feel free to drop by for workshops where we can help you with your specific leather craft projects like wallets, belts, card holders, purses, key chain, dog collars, and many more.
