Basic Leather Pauldron
COST - $45

If you’ve ever had an interest in making fantasy gear - be it for LARP, cosplay, SCA, or just for fun- this class is a perfect fit for you. Much like our basic leather bracer class, the leather pauldron – or shoulder armor - is also a fairly basic, fancy leather armor piece to make, and our professional designer Matt Gauthier will guide you through the process. In this class, you will also be learning how to set hardware, dye leather, and lay out a pattern. You will be making one pauldron. Recommended for those who have some experience with leatherworking already – setting hardware in particular- though those who like a challenge are welcome to sign up!

January 27th

10:00am – 1:00pm

Basics of Wet Molding

COST – $5

One vital technique to have in your arsenal when working with leather is that of wet molding – forming leather to a tight shape that fits whatever it is you’re making it to fit. Think leather gun holsters, or perfectly snug leather card cases that look as if they were vacuum formed to the object in question. Employee Braden will guide you through tips and techniques regarding the finesse of wet molding your projects, and by the end of this basics class you’ll have the knowledge needed to start making more seamless, professional looking leather artwork. This is a basics class, so no prior experience in wet molding is necessary, however we do request that you be familiar with leatherworking already so that it’s easier for you to follow along. Ages 12+, class time is flexible based on the speed of the attendees, if class goes over the 1 o’clock mark a lunch break will be allotted.
